There are few things better than jumping in a cold pool after spending time out in the strong summer sun. If you’ve become hot and sweaty after yardwork or are just getting back home after a jog, I doubt that hopping in your hot tub is at the top of your list. But, that doesn’t mean that your hot tub must go unused until the season changes and temperatures drop. Unique Pools Spas & Billiards is here give you a few ideas about how to make use of your hot tub in the summertime!
Lower the Temperature. Most spa heaters have temperature settings which can reach as low as 80 degrees. While this sounds warm, it’s colder than your internal body temperature, so the water at least won’t feel hot.
Turn Off the Heater. Instead of lowering the temperature, you could also simply turn off the heater. This will work best when the spa is in a shady spot or if you keep it covered, so that the sun isn’t heating up the water naturally.
Buy Bags of Ice. If you really want cold water in your spa, toss in some ice. Ice bags can be found at any gas station or supermarket and are inexpensive. Try this especially after a workout or a hard day of yardwork to refresh your muscles.
Take Advantage of Night Time. When the sun goes down, you’ll always be able to use your spa. After a long day, sitting in the spa can be a great way to relax. Or, have some friends over for a fun night in the hot tub. The colder night conditions provide a great opportunity to use your spa in the summer.
Hot tubs don’t have to be a seasonal amenity – after all, you’ve probably been at a beach condo or resort where you’ve used a hot tub in the middle of the day!
